we welcome boys and girls of all abilities, aptitudes and backgrounds. Consistently our primary aim is to ensure that every child meets or exceeds their target grades and I am delighted that the results show that this aim is achieved. We also pride ourselves on developing the qualities and social skills necessary to be successful citizens of the future.
Our aspirations are achieved through working closely with parents and providing as individual approach to each child as possible.
As one of the smaller secondary schools in the area we develop a detailed knowledge of each child very quickly and visitors always comment upon the purposeful, calm and happy atmosphere around the school.
Our bid to become a Sports College was successful in September 2002. In 2003 we gained the Healthy Schools Award (in common with many of our local primary schools). Research shows that sports colleges raise academic achievement far more than any specialism because of the varied opportunities offered across the curriculum and the increased motivation and sense of pride that sports can bring. We believe that sport uniquely develops skills of leadership, teamwork, co-operation and personal responsibility, qualities that are essential for adult life. All students follow the full range of National Curriculum subjects and also benefit from a fantastic variety of clubs and activities and improve facilities (including a digital analysis suite and purpose built Dance Studio.)
