A broad and balanced curriculum is reviewed regularly and is designed to ensure that girls develop a love of learning and a respect for scholarship. While the School is aware of the demands of the National Curriculum, as an independent school it has the flexibility to devise its own curriculum which can be more aptly tailored to the needs of its pupils.
On entry into the Senior School emphasis is placed on the core subjects of English, Mathematics and the Sciences, which are studied as separate subjects. Everyone learns French and opportunities exist to study Latin, Greek, German, Spanish, Italian and Russian.
The School is proud of its highly qualified academic staff who convey a real love of their subjects and enhance their considerable academic abilities through the acquisition of new skills and expertise.
ICT is valued across the curriculum and computer rooms are located in the Senior School, the Sixth Form Centre, the Preparatory Department and in the Art and Technology building. Use of the Internet is encouraged but is strictly monitored. Continuing investment ensures that all girls have the opportunity to secure high levels of ICT literacy.
