is a co-educational voluntary-aided comprehensive school for pupils aged 11 – 18 years in the Diocese of Southwark and the London Borough of Wandsworth. It opened in September 2003 with 150 pupils in Year 7 and will increase year on year until numbers stabilise at approximately 900 pupils, including the Sixth Form, by 2009.
The school has been purpose-built for the twenty-first century and comprises state-of-the-art facilities for all curriculum areas, including specialist accommodation for the teaching of music, the subject in which the school specialises. The Governing Body reserves 10% of places in each year group for pupils showing a particular aptitude for music but is committed to developing the school as a centre of excellence for teaching and learning across all curriculum subjects, with values underpinned by Christian principles.
The school is a well-ordered community, providing a secure, structured environment for learning. As well as the highest standards of teaching and learning, we offer a wide range of curriculum enrichment and extra-curricular activities, and pupils are encouraged to remain on the school premises after the school day has ended in order to take advantage of these opportunities.
Although still in its early years, Saint Cecilia's, Wandsworth is already a school of which parents, staff, pupils and the local community are immensely proud.
