is building a learning environment:
- that values excellence and where staff, students, governors and parents are committed to the same goals;
- that makes a positive contribution to the local community;
- where students can attain the highest standards within a secure environment;
- where each individual is valued and treated with respect and the diversity of our community is celebrated.
These values underpin our work and provide our foundation.
Our Students
We seek to help all students to develop into mature and responsible adults and to prepare for their future as active and flexible contributors to a demanding world by attaining:
- academic qualifications that reflect their true potential and the personal and social skills necessary for life;
- the confidence and abilities which create a positive self-image;
- the skills, abilities and aptitudes of independent learners, and so support lifelong learning.
We are committed to creating a caring community that values respect: within which staff and students can work and achieve and where teaching and learning is free from disruption. We encourage students to participate in college life through the school council and to develop links with the wider community.
We actively encourage a parental partnership between parents, students and the College – a partnership based on a belief that together we prepare young people for a future as active and flexible contributors to a changing world. The College boasts good academic, arts and sporting facilities that include a swimming pool and a drama department with facilities for theatre-in-the-round performances. All subject areas have their own suite of rooms, with particularly well resourced Science and Technology, ICT and Art and Design areas.
