The school is a Seventh-day Adventist, Christian, Voluntary Aided School for boys and girls of all faiths between the ages of 11 and 16. This school was opened in April 1980 as an independent school and gained grant maintained status in September 1998. In September 1998, the school became an LEA maintained school with voluntary aided status.
